Commuting: Blizzard? What blizzard?!

Just like any other day, I biked to work through our supposed blizzard. I guess I overestimated how plowed the roads would be, and I had to walk the bike to the alley with Mr. B watching like always. Here are some pictures of my commute. It really wasn't that bad, the only hard part was the handling and that was on packed snow that was lightly driven on. It was the grooves of the tire tracks that made handling difficult, but the parts that were not driven on or had heavier traffic was a lot easier to bike on. I got to test out my new toe clip covers or toe cozys from Bike Cozy and they really work. My Vans were nice and dry when I got to work and back at home.

During the height of our snow storm our SEVERE WEATHER FORECAST TEAM (who are excited beyond belief at this mess) interviewed a man on his bicycle. With streets and public transportation shut down he was the only one getting anywhere.

Back in Alaska we used to put studs on our bike tires. Had different tires for each season :)

I salute you as being quite possibly the bravest person I (sort of) know. The wind (especially in Chicago!), snow, road conditions... Yikes! You're my hero!

Okay, I'm impressed that you rode your bike to work in that mess. Must have been great exercise, too!

Hi! Thanks for visiting my blog. I'm very happy to meet you. My mom thinks you might be nuts for riding a bike in that kinda weather. BOL

That was brave to ride your bike, I would have been scared a car skidded into me. It looks very cold to go riding.
