Dog-Friendly Home Decor: The Dog-Person Bed

The other day, we stopped by Crate & Barrel, to check out their new dog product selection, where we picked up this toy for Miss M:
But, we weren't expecting to pick this up too:
We had been passively looking for a bed, and it was only by going to pick up that dog toy that we discovered the Tate Bed. It makes us feel like we're staying at a fancy hotel. Before buying, we investigated some of the reviews that specifically recommended against it for dog owners saying the upholstery attracts fur. But, we still took a chance on it. Even with the pooches rubbing against the sides, we haven't really noticed any fur. Though we have had this problem:
Since the bed is a bit lower to the ground, the pooches are closer to face-level when they come to wake us up in the morning.
The best part was we discovered the "registry program" where we were able to get 10% off. any of Crate & Barrel's furniture or items. You can register for a "housewarming" or "birthday" and just by registering, even if nothing is purchased from the registry, you will receive a 10% of coupon a week after your "event" occurs. Since we eloped, we had never gotten any new marriage things, and this was kind of a splurge for us. But, we thought it made sense if it makes us feel like every day is a 'vacation'.
Plus, we don't know of many fancy hotels that allow pooches.

Love the new bed. I actually had no idea that C&B had dog products (shows how much I shop doesn't it?). Ms. M's toy is very stylish.

We're also in the market for a new bed... but most of them are so darn high, and since Corbin is allowed on the bed sometimes - he does his crazy zoomie runs through the house, down the hall, on the bed, and back... we're afraid the wooden bedframes are too high for him. Very nice bed set though!

Hello there!

We're visiting your blog from Singapore and felt compelled to comment on the wonderfully-chosen decor and colour co-ordination of your bedroom! Love the matching yellow throw and flowers.

Cheers,

That bed is really nice! I am glad ours is tall enough that Lilac can no longer pull the cold nose poke in the back routine any more, though! I love their expressions!

Mr. B cracks me up...at least you don't wake up to a cat on your head every morning (Saki, our 3 legged kitty has NO BOUNDARIES).

The bed looks awesome.

I like the new bed! Crate and Barrel is a dangerous place. I never know what I'll be leaving with when I walk in the door! I wouldn't think Pits would have a big problem with shedding on furniture...though I guess they have those short hairs that get into fabric and become almost impossible to extract...still it must be nice to wake up to that face every morning...the perfect height for wake up kisses!

Love the bed, the low profile works perfectly to showcase your gorgeous windows!

Great bed! I forget how lucky we are - our girls are late sleepers. Even if I happen to "oversleep" until 9 AM (how I miss the days when I slept until noon without even trying!), I have to wake them up and do my own get-ready routine while they stretch and yawn and wander out of the bedroom.

look at you and your fancy bed! it does look like it belongs in a posh hotel, but so much friendlier with your two pooches :)

wow! what a beautiful space. we also read you entry about your elopement and were SO impressed- you managed to make eloping the cutest most adorable/affordable option and didn't lose any of the "special-ness" of the day. Love the hotel room you got. (makes elopement very appealing for us :) )
Also thank you so so much for your super generous contribution to winnie's surgery- we couldn't be more thankful!!

Love your decor! And you're right - we do have the same blanket. I went with the very washable, wipeable bed frame because Billy is a serious shedder of both black and white hairs.
What a handsome face to wake up to though...

A very lovely bed! I wish we could afford such a luxury, we have an IKEA bed that works well with Darwin, He loves jumping on it but it's easier on his hips because it's low. I agree with you in that sometimes I wish it wasn't so accessible. ;)

It looks like a nice bed! Against better judgment and the advice of every dog trainer there is, we let our pup on the bed. I almost wish we had chosen a lower bed so it wouldn't stress her legs to hop up so much. We're just that much closer to getting doggy steps. **sigh**

Try the Hotel Indigo!! My husband and I stayed there with our two pups (amstaff and a lab mix) for six weeks while work was being done on our house. They were wonderful! The staff loved the pups. :-)
