Levi's Superhero Upbringing

When we first adopted our pooches, we began noticing things that gave us clues about their past lives. We learned Miss M was owned by a large man because she would get so excited when she saw big guys. We also learned in her past life she had a couple of drinks here and there.
Mr. B lets us know how much of an outdoor dog he used to be by using every waking moment to sit outside on our urban deck.
But at the same time, Levi has remained a complete mystery. All we know is that he was found on the mean streets of Chicago, living as a stray, and we haven't gotten too many clues about his past life. Which doesn't really explain this:
 This:
 And even this:
The only explanation we can think of, is that in his past life he was raised by Superheros! Which would also explain why he's always peeking around corners, perhaps listening to help whoever is in distress:
And how he must have used his Superhero charms and good-looks on pushy Miss M:
I think the only explanation is that he has Superhero in his bloodline. Don't you think?
Anyone else get clues from their pooches about their past lives?
P.S. SociaBulls: We posted our new event on our page and we will be back at North Shore Channel for next week. Anyone interested in becoming a new SociaBulls member, please email us using the link on the sidebar and subject line SociaBulls.

Levi is such a cutie! I lost my old GSP girl Sophie a couple weeks ago. After having dogs at home for 30+ years, I'm sure missing a furry friend to greet me at the door, snuggle with me on the couch, and encourage me to get out for some daily exercise. Is Levi currently adoptable? I'm very interested in him and would like more details if you can provide them (or a website for more information). Thank you

Hahahaha! Our dog lays like that too - it's very strange and always makes me wince. It looks so painful. Perhaps it's stray dog syndrome?
Shiva was also found wandering alone in a bad part of the city. Other than that we know nothing about her past.

Levi has the cutest little face!

Yes, Levi is an adoptable dog, but his rescue group only adopts within the Chicagoland area. Here is his profile with a link to adoption application: http://www.nlol.org/chicago/dogs.asp?dogid=1034

It's amazing what you can learn about a dog's past by their behavior. I must agree with your conclusion that Levi was raised by super heroes!!

That sure does explain a lot. Skye does the superhero stretch in the morning- I have no idea how she doesn't get carpet burn.

As far as guessing their former lives, I actually know everything about Parker's former home. However, if I had simply adopted him and tried to guess I would be totally off on just about everything- other than the fact that he had never been groomed before coming to the shelter.

Skye is a mystery, found as a sick stray, and the only thing I'm pretty sure about is that she was allowed to play very rough with her humans, and didn't have a lot of rules to follow. My little rebel.

We get little clues here and there. Mostly things that make us sad. But just this past weekend my husband participated in a mud run and our pitty and I went to cheer him on.

Well amongst all the people there our Bella became super excited to see this one particular guy. Normally she is a lot like Mr. B, a little shy and standoffish. For some reason she was just as wiggly and happy as when she sees one of us. She kept pulling toward him so hard. The gentleman was actually a little afraid of her despite me telling him she was friendly and wouldn't pet her which bummed both of us out.

I'm pretty sure he reminded her of some human in her past. Hopefully, one that loved her as much as we do now. Either that or he had bacon in his pockets.

I bet you Levi is just happy to have something cool and soft on his belly - I imagine those streets are awfully sharp and pokey on a pups tummy!

That is too funny! I have to agree that he MUST of been raised by superheros, there is no other explanation for that adorable position!

Superhero, or perhaps he lived in a yoga house! He's darned cute, no matter what he's been doing!

Our dogs' pasts aren't that mysterious. We know quite a bit about their past lives, as well as that they were pretty well taken care of!

Definitely a superhero! Now just need to determine which one!

LOL! What a cute post. I can't get over how adorable Levi is. It's a wonder to me that someone hasn't scarfed him up.

Wilbur was left at a vet clinic when he was 11 weeks old. He had been badly injured by a pregnant pitty but we're pretty sure that up until that time he was with his own mommy. So what we don't understand is why when we go to pat him on his head, he cringes. Every time. If I didn't know better I'd swear he'd been beaten but I'm almost certain he wasn't. I think he's just so stinking smart he knows I'll get all gushy and give him tons of kisses when he does this!

I love that idea! You definitely need to get him a cape with a big "L" and see if he reacts.

Levi is most certainly of Superhero descent! I'm liking Mary's idea of a cape. He'd look smashing! :D

My pitty was about 6 months at finding. Maybe he was raised by cats!
