SociaBulls do Historic Urban Parks

We never expected our little group to grow so quickly, but we were so excited to have 20 pooches join us for a Sunday morning stroll. Always wanting to look his best in case he meets his new family, Levi dressed appropriately for this turn-of-the-century park in a dapper bowtie thanks to his buddy Buddy. This view from the boathouse makes you feel like you're not even in the city:
We loved having a mix of great dogs and their owners always working to improve their dogs' skills. With several returning and some new pooches. From Nabi, Maize, and first-time walker Carra:
To new member Zoe, and returning Buddy and Natsu:
We loved meandering through the park with the lagoons and weeping willows with Billy (who is unfortunately itchy), Izzy, whose mom picked this scenic route, and Marley.
Returning members Dude and Willie, and  first-time walker Rudie.
And little Levi, Red, and newly adopted Ollie:
After our walk we ran into a police officer friend of ours who mentioned that he had seen our group walking, and he was amazed to see so many dogs walking well together without 'starting anything'--especially since so many of them were pitbulls. Hearing this, it is great to know people are noticing and having new thoughts about bully-breeds and that we're also modeling good training behavior. Here are Torre (still perfect attendance!), Lola, and Floyd all quite pleased with themselves.
We also love how the walks are becoming a family event. We have noticed during the first walks it will usually be one family member, but on returning walks people are coming in pairs. Just like adorable Jack with his family.
We love having this group where we have the support to continue working with our dogs.

How amazing! I think it's great how popular the club is and how it has grown. We have something similar here in Richmond, led by local company Canine Adventure, called the "Human Adventure." We always have a good time getting together with fellow pet lovers, and especially love exploring the city!

If I'm ever in Chicago, I'm going to have to reserve myself a spot in the "club," with or without a dog!

These dogs are all beautiful, and your endeavor is, as always, so inspirational. I'm totally starting a hiking group for dogs in Austin after I get settled there. Also- I love the photo of Jack and Kim and Scott.

Love your choice of "SociaBulls" name. And what a great service for our much loved bully dogs and their owners. For sure Willie and I would join you if we didn't live in Louisville. All those happy dogs learning good manners-great!

This is such a fabulous idea! I'm so glad to see well behaved pit bulls making positive impressions. I hate that you had to turn dogs away. :( Maybe you could separate the dogs into two groups and have them walk apart from each other? Just a suggestion. Keep up the good work!

Aw, how I LOVE that smooshy face on our pup, Jack.

Thank you for taking such a memorable photo of our little family!

That's impressive that you've already had to turn people/dogs away! Sounds like a great club!

I love seeing all those happy faces, both canine and human. I wish I didn't live on a different continent as this is just what Ziggy needs to help him combat his other dog reactiveness.

That park looks like a beautiful place to walk, and all the dogs look very happy to be there!

Sending a should out to itchy Billy. Poor guy! Allergies are ramping up here for us too. We LOVE seeing pics of your SociaBulls meetups.

Wow, I am impressed that your group has grown so large! It sounds like you have good rules to limit new members to keep things manageable every week. I really do like to see the pictures of all the different dogs that come to participate. Rudie is a total doll! And that Lola looks a lot sweeter than my Lola.
