Pooches: Our Pitbull-ometer

We know a lot of people who rely on Tom Skilling, the Farmer's Almanac, or even groundhogs to tell the weather. Though we consider ourselves lucky: we have are very own pit bull-ometer.
Each morning we awaken to see the type of weather the pups have predicted for the day.
When it's too hot outside to even think of touching:
That warm-enough weather where you can just touch a little bit:
When it really becomes fall-like and you need to share a single bed:
Or a single crate:
Until it's just cold enough to sleep tightly packed together:
Or it's so cold it's necessary to sleep jowl-to-jowl.
Does anyone else have pups who are weather predictors?

Also:
What we think they're relationship is
What Miss M thinks her relationship is
Who Mr. B would rather be sleeping with

I just want to squish in there between them!

Ours has a whole series of postures in warmer weather when she is cooling down for bed time. Starts out fully extended on the floor...then gets up an hour or so later and nests in the blankets beside the bed (I don't have the heart to clean them up now that she has taken them over)...and finally jumps up onto the bed and lands in full donut for the rest of the night. The colder the weather, the tighter the pit bull ball!

If he's under the bed, it's too hot. If he's on the bed, it's comfortable. If he's on the bed, but halfway under his blanket, nights are getting cooler. If he's on the bed, under his blanket, and in the curve of my legs, he has plans to sleep in.

Yep! Otto is an only pooch, so we predict the weather based on his posture. All spread out on the floor = hot. Curled up in a little ball on the bed under his blankie = cold. Of course, there are many variations in between.

Haha! I luved this pictures. Brudder Ranger and I are pretty good at predicting the weather, too. But the kittehs are the real experts at it. When it's hot, they hardly move at all. But when it starts getting cooler, they do kerazy zoomies around the house and jump at things that aren't even there. It's kinda skeery and kinda funny, too.

This is hilarious and crazy cute! When Henry gets cold, he unmakes one of the beds in the house (he's allowed on the beds) and gets under the covers. Although I suspect he's cold from the AC and not the weather in Houston. :)

Nope...both of mine sleep like it is freezing no matter what the temperature is! And usually right on me, the bed is the only furniture they are allowed on! LOL!

I love those two so much! Your very own weather reporters!

So cute! This why I love short haired dogs. You can watch them enjoy sunbathing and being wrapped in a warm blanket or cuddles close together. My parent's german shepherd is always hot! She wants to be outside in the coldest temps and can't handle any heat or sun.

Love that last pic! We have similar "sensors," but for the most part, the human's legs are key in ALL weather. Gotta be on top of them!

Miss M and Mr B are just the cutest and I would say great predictors of weather. The best I have is when Boomer and Dottie get frisky and act like puppies when fall is finally here!

The Pitbull-ometer is one of the cutest things I have seen in a while.

Diggs will move his bedding to the side and sleep on the bare plastic of his crate if it's too warm. As it gets cooler in the house, he nests more in his bedding and moves from laying stretched out on his side into a tightly curled ball. Silly pup.

That is adorable. With only one pitty, I don't get this fun side benefit, because she wouldn't be caught dead cuddling with my other dog!
