We loaded up on Orangina and fresh-baked pastries from the local Polish bakery. And Mr. B made sure to bring his favorite pink toy.
We have found that comforters work as the perfect picnic blanket because they are that much more comfortable. We use a shower curtain liner underneath if the grass is damp. They showed the movie Scott Pilgrim vs. the World which is based on a comic book and stars Michael Cera.It was actually a really good movie. It was funny because Miss M fell into a deep sleep during the movie and was so confused to wake up in the middle of a park on a blanket.
As we're prepping for fall, we realize how much we're going to miss about the summer and all the outdoor activities. But I guess this just makes us that much closer to next summer.

I bet people loved seeing those two at the movies! Glad they behaved so well and you are able to do that. Hold onto summer as long as you can!
Amazing, they do this all over NYC as well!
That is awesome! We had tickets to an outdoor movie which allowed dogs and was a fundraiser for one of the dog rescue orgs, but that day Bender had his little accident with a submerged stick and we spent all evening at the vet with him.
The only thing that would make that picnic better is nutella & peanut butter s'wiches!
It's sad that summer is over. I love Fall but am not looking forward to dog walking in the rain!
is it still warm enough up there to sit outside at night without coats? it's already starting to turn down here . . . we have outdoor movies in our backyard in the summertime, and i think we're hosting the last one of the season in a week or two. farewell summer!
I love things like this ... looks like you guys had fun!
I feel the same way, you guys. please come back soon, Chicago summer (and don't torture us as much with winter as you did last year)!

What a wonderful way to spend a few hours! It is so great that you were able to bring the pooches to watch a movie with you!
I wish they had something like that near me, that looks like so much fun! Most of the "movies in the park" type things are downtown and don't allow dogs. Does Mr. B carry his pink stuffie down there with him?
Yes, Mr. B grabs his stuffie before he heads out for a walk. It actually gets a bit annoying because he's always racing around looking for it, and we don't always let him take them.
I think Mr. B is too cute with his toys!

Miss M probably just woke up and thought she was surrounded by her adoring public, the way it should be. I'm not sure if we could get the boys to settle with other people with food around!
