Mr. B, the Dog's Dog

Miss M really wanted her own dog, so we went out and adopted Mr. B. They were so excited to meet, that Mr. B pulled his foster mom halfway down her driveway to say hi to Miss M and then the pooches ran together for 30 min around his foster mom's yard and lake. Miss M thought she had found her perfect dog, that was until we brought him home. She quickly learned that Mr. B was not a dog's dog.
She would try everything to get Mr. B to play with him, she would shove toys in his face, nibble on his ear and even bite his legs, but Mr. B would just lay down or walk away. We soon saw he was the same way with all of our foster dogs.
Whenever our fosters were playing with Miss M, we would find Mr. B in the corner of the room, laying nicely with his stuffy. Then when Miss M gets too crazy for our fosters (which was all the time), the fosters would turn their attention to Mr. B.
They would get in his face, jumping around and barking, but they would all leave dejected, because all Mr. B would do was turn his body and lay facing the other way with his stuffy.
We sometimes wonder if Mr. B thinks he is a cat, because he doesn't want to play with other dogs but he is very eager to play with a cat ... and rats.

Sam is the same way. Sam will not play and does his best to avoid Monty. Aaron thinks I've spoiled him into really believing he is a short, furry human.

Maybe Mr. B thinks he's a stuffy...

Awww Mr. B- species confusion is such a tragic thing. Brie has been trying everything her little brain can think of to coax Parker into playing. He will literally push his face into a couch cushion and die inside.

Let Mr B be Mr B!
Just like people... some just aren't into other people.. some dogs aren't into other dogs... it's ok!
He's a very very good boy: considering his comparative indfference to the other dogs, his behavior is perfect.

Mr. B is just a mellow guy! I'm sure the fact that he's chill and calm like that can be helpful sometimes.

Mr. B sounds like my perfect dog.

They are such a perfect match, despite that.
When we adopted Braylon, I was so unfamiliar with having two dogs it was literally months before we let them just play like dogs!

Kind of strange. Wonder why Mr. B was so happy to meet Miss M and then ignores her after moving in?
