SociaBulls: On Weather Walk Cancelations

While we do a lot of behind-the-scenes planning, and we have whole teams working on walk coordination, one thing we can never plan for is the weather.
Since we even have people driving in from the far suburbs, we need to give at least 1 1/2 hour notice if walks are still on or canceled.
We have developed a 'Weather Watcher' team which is responsible for keeping an eye on the weather throughout the weekend. Knowing how weather can vary throughout the neighborhoods, we try to pick people who live close to the walking location, or at least rotate the responsibility among the members. They keep an eye on the radar, discuss, and see if there should be a cancelation.
With the radar on our side, we can usually be spot on. Sometimes even calculating the end of a walk in time to avoid a downpour.
Though sometimes it can be a tough call, as Torre's mom always says: "The dogs still need to be walked". We don't have backyards, and we have to take our dogs out anyway, so isn't it more fun in to do it in a group?
Plus, we love seeing all the pups in their weather gear.
In over a year of walking, and moving to 2 walks per week, we have still had less than 10 cancelations. We even walked through a Chicago winter!
How do your pups handle walking in tough weather?

They are definitely cute in their gear. The only weather we avoid here in AZ is the heat - 120 degrees plus is too much for our pups!

Brinks and bella were always the ones who hated the cold weather so once they do their business they scatch at the door and run in and get under the covers shaking. They might be half bears as they hibernate in the cold months.

I love seeing all the dogs looking dapper in their outfits! Luna is very element sensitive and therefore we have it all, raincoat, boats, scarves, hoodies, and are constantly looking to add to our collection. She doesn't tolerate any sort of extreme weather. If it's not nice out wants to do her business and get back into her bed asap! My sister is constantly telling me that she's a pitbull and they're suppose to be tough. But the truth is she just my little baby.

Badger is what we call our "all-weather dog". He's fine in rain or snow without a jacket. We just towel him off when we get back inside. He doesn't even get that "wet dog" scent!

Mushroom's our "little princess". She refuses to potty in wet grass, and if she's wet or cold, she'll just stand there and whine. She doesn't particularly like her coat either, so we're planning on having her do some touch-targeting with it.

As for the humans, we bought a pair of fingerless gloves, and L and I each wear one normal glove and one fingerless glove. The fingerless-gloved-hand is used for treat dispensing and poop-bag opening. It's worked so far, but it's actually been unseasonably warm here in Massachusetts.

I love to see all the dogs dressed up in their warmer gear, they are too cute.

Our dogs love the cooler weather since they have heavier coats. Snow is just a blast to to them but rain is another story, they aren't too fond of the rain... strange since they are Labs huh?

I do not like walking in bad weather. Nope. I don't mind the cold, really (as long as it's not TOO cold) but I suuuure don't like water from the sky. Mom STILL hasn't gotten me a cute rain coat like you all have so it's Most Dangerous to go out when there's water falling from the sky cuz brindle furs can melt, you know.

Pauley & Annie do not care what the weather is like; they WANT their walks. Now, if walking is already done for the night & it is just us opening the back door for a potty break & there is rain or very cold weather, we have to make them go out.
