Pooches: Miss M Smiles Sometimes

Much like Britney Spears and Kim Kardashian, Miss M has her very own headline-grabbing diva personality to live up to.
She is the pooch who is perpetually grumpy.
Even when all dolled up in a cab and heading out on the town:
The funny thing is, behind-the-scenes she can be all smiles:
But quickly returns to her 'natural expression' in front of the camera:
Which she has quickly mastered:
Though it seems like what makes Miss M most happy, is her perpetual grumpy frown.

She has such a beautiful smile, but she can work that frown like nobody's business!

Miss M is such a character! Her sweet "frown" makes this gal smile from ear to ear. What a big love!

I was a former "pit-a-phobe" who about 8 months ago "accidentally" adopted a pitbull. Boy was I wrong about believing all the hype and misinformation that is out there! My Piper is the biggest snuggler and the best dog I've every had!

I was so happy to find your blog and realize that there are so many others out there totally smitten with their pitties and who want to share the wonderful world of one of the most misunderstood breeds in America! :)

She's not frowning, she's just wonderfully jowly! Does she let you squeeze her jowls? (Badger is very patient with us. Some days I just need a good jowl squeeze.)

Amazing what personalities out Pits have. Miss M just has this look like "dont mess with me". Love it!

She's so cute! I love her smile (even if they are more candid than the frown). Have you ever had issues with her in front of the camera? (I know several pups who are afraid of the clicking/flashing of the camera and literally run when they see one). I wonder if maybe she hears something when the shutter closes and is trying to figure it out!

Well we surely can't help but smile seeing her grumpy face. I too, seem to have a bit of a "worried" look, so Mom says. Unless I am hot. Then, I am super smiley Kitty.

Hi there, I'm actually commenting about an earlier blog but wasn't sure if I commented there that you would see it. "On Not Giving Up" on your challenging furkid

Question for you and your readers:
I'd love to know how/where you and your readers gained their knowledge for working on some of the tougher challenges (leash, other dog reaction, aggression, home demolition, etc) Was it from a book, did you work with a "personal trainer", go to classes? Especially if there are great books out there, it would be great to see a list.

Thanks so much, great blog and luv your boy & girl, they make my day.

Hi Sara: From my own experiences with Miss M, I used a combination of training classes and trial and error. I think it's also important to find a really good trainer that understands our type of dog. All dogs are individuals, but a part of setting up our blog was to create a type of community where we realize we aren't in this alone and create a type of 'owner helping owner' community. If there is a specific issue you are interested in, I could see if we have any past posts and discussion about it.

Miss M we are loving those pictures and I totally understand your expression in that last photo. I'm most certain I wouldn't be smiling either. Smiling or neutral you're always beautiful.

On the question of where readers have gotten their dog related info we have gone to a lot of training classes and we have a large bookshelf full of books on dog training and how dogs learn along with dog nutrition, health and wellness.
