Unlike Ms. M, Mr. B has a really hard time learning tricks. We think that the trait for intelligence was lost while artificially selecting for certain physical traits like a large head and huge buttocks. Poor Mr. B, Ms. M gets all of the attention with her fancy tricks, but unlike Ms. M, Mr. B is very loyal even though Mr. B might not be very bright, he tries very hard to learn the tricks. There are times it looks like he is really trying to process what we are asking him to do. Here is Mr. B showing off his four tricks:

Mr. B sounds a lot like Ollie. After over a year, all he can do is sit on command and stand on his back legs. He's got himself a big head, I just don't think there is anything in it!
Aw but he's so handsome...he doesn't need brains! What a cutie.
Or maybe he figured out that by just being finite, he gets more treats! He sure is a handsome boy. I loved the look on his face with the treats on his paws. 'Really? Mom? Really? Treats belong in my tummy, not my paws.'
Wow Mr. B! Those are for reel grate tricks. I thank you are as good as waveng as the Queen of Inglend!
Awww- I just love his droopy ears. He looks so earnest!
Who needs brains Mr.B?! They just get in the way anyways! Besides, I only know 2 trick, so I guess you are WAAAAAAAAAYYYY ahead of me.
In fact, big fat Mia only knows two also!

He does his four tricks very well!
Maybe we are just really not circus dog material... because we think Mr B has AMAZING talent!!!!! Captain refuses to be trained to do tricks, the little stinker and Candy well... she likes to dance and sit on command but that is all! We have fallen into the trap of - we have little dogs and they do what they please!! This is a stark contracts to when we had out bull terrier Sugar... we had private training lessons, group lessons and all sorts of sign language signs since she was deaf. She was quit an accomplished girl!

Pshaw! Who needs brains when you have huge buttocks? And a Most Handsome face? You are verrrry good at the waiting thing though. Isn't that hard?

Mesa is the same way. Baily can learn anything we teach her. Mesa is all about the basics.
I am most impressed! Mr. B has a great wave and tremendous patience. I could never, ever get one of my dogs to wait while yummy treats are teasing them right under their noses!
Aww, if he wasn't living with such a circus star, he would be considered a very intelligent doggie with those four tricks. He has excellent focus. I think there may be something to the idea of the bigger the head, the less room for intelligence... because Remi has a giant head and very little seems to get through to him. It's an interesting theory. :-)
That was awesome! Love his facial expressions the most; absolute hilarity.
mr. b,
4 tricks or no tricks, i still think you're a most awesome guy!!
that must have been some torture to have those super delicious treatsies on your paws, and you couldn't eat them right away!!!!
*woof*
the booker man
He is a very smart pooch!
Ha, doesn't THAT sound familiar! Louis is the same way ... poor guy tries and tries, but he just doesn't have too much going on up there. :D He knows three tricks (and loves to show them off), while Napoleon steals the show with all his fancy-pants maneuvers.
Great job Mr. B. You are so cute!!
Hope you got lots of treats

Mr B! How did you manage the last trick, how?! You're so disciplined! Wow
Twink!
I agree with Mindful. When you're a handsome as that, why do you have to be smart as well? And they're lovely tricks, lol.
Hey! Tricks are hard and big guys like us have other things on our minds, right? I was most impressed by the kibbles on the feet trick.

MrB and Darwin know about the same tricks.
Ive been trying to teach Darwin to pick up her toys and put them away, but it's slow going!
We think you're handsome and smart. Four tricks is a lot of tricks. You do have a very big head.
