Everywhere we went, especially in Manuel Antonio and Quepos, we saw dogs just laying around or walking about and hanging out with other dogs.
This dog was passed out in the middle of the bus terminal and he didn't even move when people were standing all around him.
We hardly ever see Dalmatians where we live, but we saw quite a few in Costa Rica and one even lived at the firehouse in Quepos.

There were dogs that would walk around everywhere in Manuel Antonio and we thought they were strays like the one below, but then we would see them in front of a house or beckoning to someone's call. Jorge from the Toucan Rescue Ranch told us that many people let their dogs run free and the dogs come back home at night.
A loved this dog because she spent all day jumping in the waves and we saw her the next day back on the beach playing and jumping in the waves again.

So many cute pups!!
I likes seeing how other doggies live. Mom says there's lots of places that lets doggies run around free like that but I'm glad mom doesn't let me and Brudder Ranger do that. I'm afraid we might get lost or something! I am also glad that I'm a mountain dog and not an ocean dog. The ocean looks kinda skeery to me.
We luved seeing your pictures! Thank you for sharing them with us!

Thanks for bringing back memories of a great place. La Fortuna was a favorite. We drove up to the volcano at night, with a couple of locals, that was an experience we will never forget!

I love seeing other dogs/cats in other countries, though many times those pets are so skinny and sad looking.
That spider... eww!
That 2nd black & white dog looks like my dog, Kayloo! :)
Cool crab!
Seeing stray dogs makes me depressed, so I'm happy to hear that a lot of the ones you saw had a place to go. What a life! Play in the ocean all day, go home and have a safe place to sleep at night.
Thanks for taking us on your daily walk so many dogs!
See Yea George xxx
That spider would have seriously freaked me out! All the animals were very cute though :)
All spiders creep me out, so I don't like that part of Costa Rica :) Although we see many that look just like that around our house and I hate them.
Belize was like that with dogs - owners generally just let their dogs roam at will and they had what they called "island dogs" which were essentially homeless, but apparently taken care of. They looked well-fed and had collars and I think there was an organization that would take them to be spayed/neutered, so that was great. One of them hung out with us for several days on the beach - he was so cute.
Isn't funny how you always notice dogs when you go to other places? Maybe that's just me, but I always find them fascinating when they live differently from how ours live here. You got some great pictures!
It looks like a lazy dog kinda town. Cute

Cool place! Luv it that the dogs can run free and come home when they want to.
I like the bright red legs on the crab! I wonder if he'd be good to eat?
