The Boulevards are actually an intricate part of Chicago history. Back in 1859, while thinking of ways to beautify the city, they developed the Boulevard System: mini 'grassy parks' flanked on either side by the road and encircling the city. The Boulevards also connect many of the major parks including Humboldt Park and Jackson Park.
It was actually really nice to having these mini-parks to ourselves; the pooches were able to walk more 'pack-like' without running into other dogs or distractions. Plus, I never realized Chicago was so green!
It was also nice to be so visible since this is Pitbull Awareness Weekend. People were curious to see the pooches all walking so nicely together, especially since we have so many pitbulls and a variety of other types of dogs.
Mr. B made a nice caddy: all decked out with his backpack, to carry his water, and his GoPro camera taking photos and videos from his view.
Next week we're hoping to explore the city's beautiful lakefront. If you are interested in joining our group, please email us, using the envelope icon on our sidebar, and the subject line: SociaBulls.
SociaBulls members, make sure to check the site tonight for the event listing.

Looks like a great event! Someday we'll be in Chicago for a weekend and we'll hope to meet up with you guys for your weekly walk.
I love your Monday posts and seeing all the cute pups that participate!
Thank you guys again for a great walk in our favorite neighborhood! Logan Square is beautiful :)
Afterwards, we went to the farmer's market to pick up a few things, and there was a pit bull adoption booth. The girls at the booth were talking about how they saw "a walk with so many pit bulls! how cool!" and Scott and I were like, hey, that was us! We got to talking to one of them, and she was so, so excited about raising awareness. I gave her your blog information and told us she should join in next time!
Sounds like a great walk! Thanks for sharing pictures :-)
i really love and admire what you are doing to bring awareness to the pibbles bewootiful breed. you are changing minds everyday im sure and i thank you from the bottom of my heart.
You always have the best posts and info regarding pitties. It's to bad there are so many negative stories in the news or irresponsible owners

Beautiful pictures!
So sorry we missed this one! Hopefully we can make the next one.
what a cool way to link the parks using the boulevards; super photos. a niece, her husband and children live in Chicago. Good enough reason to join you on a weekend walk while I visit sometime :). thanks for sharing.
We like Mr. B's backpack and camera for the dog eye view of things. They are very lucky doggies.
