Boris is a pooch we had seen at the city shelter way back in the fall. He has a personality just as big as his lug head winning over everyone he met. This smiley guy even landed himself a coveted spot on the adoption floor, and he was adopted out during the shelter's big fall adoption event. So imagine everyone's disappointment when during a recent shelter visit we saw this familiar grin back in the same spot where he had just left.
Instead of finding his happy life, and walking off into the sunset, he was abandoned and picked up as a stray. They contacted his owners, but they never came back for him.
We can tell he's had a rough life, but none of this has broken his spirit. He is a wiggly happy guy who loves every person and dog he meets. So when New Leash on Life realized they had a spot open, they swooped in to add him to the New Leash family.
Like many a TV bachelor, it seems Boris hasn't had much luck finding a family on his own, and we're hoping by making his search visible we will be able to line up the perfect family. Sure he may not be a Firestone Tire heir, but Boris really is the complete package. He is house-trained, crate-trained, doesn't countersurf or topple garbage, he is outgoing and he greets people without jumping, he is AMAZING with other dogs, and is just an overall laid-back guy.
He would would be perfect for a beginning dog owner, families with kids, or integrated in as a second pooch. Did we mention he's basically all-around perfect?
We couldn't be more excited about welcoming him into our home, and helping him hand out his slobbery kisses as he searches for his forever home.
'Like" the New Leash on Life facebook page for extra photos and updates, and stay tuned as Bachelor Boris begins his journey to find the perfect match.

PS. We were just reminiscing about a recent foster who had this happen their very first night in our home.

I think Bachelor Boris would be a great match for lots of families.....Good Sense of Humour (judging by that lovely smile), nice manners and VERY handsome.
So sad his adoption didn't work out. Hope he has better luck soon.
Love and licks, Winnie
So nice to meet Boris! What a lucky fellow to be resting in your home with Miss M and his lookalike Mr B :-)
I look forward to reading all about your adventures!
Happy happy Friday!
Boy it looks like he will fit right in. Can't believe how much he looks like the other to you have. Hope he finds a new home soon. Sniffs, The HoundDogs
Congratulations guys!!
Boris-perfect name for this big old bachelor! It could just as well have been Lucky Dog for landing your attention. Hope he gets a rose real soon.
Yay! Congrats on the new foster guy! He reminds me a lot of our Brutus. I hope he finds a perfect place soon! Until then, I'll enjoy seeing that good lookin' mug around your blog!

He is so handsome. I bet he gives the best kisses. Can't wait to read about all his bachelor adventures. Is he going to hold his own rose ceremony for the winner? Maybe a bone ceremony instead? ;-)
My goodness! I just love Boris. What a happy and lucky guy. And that first picture is amazing!
What kind of people abandon a dog they took the trouble of adopting from a shelter? Not all adoptions don't work out and you'd think they'd have a little more compassion. At least Boris is getting yet one more chance and I'm sure this time it will work out very well! He's so cute and it's amazing how much he blends right in with your two.
Sorry, I meant not all adoptions work out, not all adoptions don't work out!
HOORAY! I've been anxiously awaiting a post on this guy. :) He is such a handsome low-rider. I'm so excited to meet him in person, and thrilled that he's now part of the NLOL family. :)
OMG...Boris is so pretty...I mean handsome (maybe boy dogs don't like to be called pretty). He looks like an AWESOME dog. It won't be long before you find his furever home for him; who can resist that smile.
Can't wait for more pics and updates on this guy and your other kiddos. :-)
yippee! He.is.so.stinkin.cute!
Sounds like my kinda guy too...if we didn't just adopt the Chockster I would probably drive out to Chicago and steal him from you!
If he's so super awesome it should be forced upon his owners that they become foster parents since he sounds like he'd be an awesome foster brother!
...but we're not into the forcing thing...just sayin!
He is GORGEOUS!! So glad you are able to help him :)
Oh he is so handsome
Stop on by for a visit

He's awesome...hope he gets the right family the next time around!
Boris is a handsome dude! He seems too good to be true :)
I'm in love already! I love his big ole gator smile! I volunteer at a humane society down here in NC, and we have the NLOL program too. Such an excellent program for the dogs AND humans! He sounds like a really mellow guy, and I hope he finds the perfect home! He sounds like he would be a good fit with my female pittie:)
Oh, his poor ears. We just hate to see the ears all hacked up like that :(. Wishing Boris the best of luck in finding a fur real furever and ever home.
Abandoned and picked up as a stray? I hope that those people go on a "Do Not Adopt" list.
Boris is lucky to have people like you willing to help him! His name is amazing, and he looks like a love.
What a cutie Boris is. His luck has definitely changed now that he's with you! I'm sure his new family is just around the corner!
Welcome Boris! My oh my is he handsome, and what a personality! We can't believe he ended up a stray. Very much hoping this guy finds a loving family. He is a catch.

Beautiful! And such kind eyes. Hope he gets a wonderful match.
I'm in love! How old is he? Think he'd make a good Arizona dog? ;)
Congrats on landing a hot bachelor as a foster dog! It sounds like Boris has a lot going for him- here's hoping he has tons of lovely ladies scrambling to claim him as their own!
So very handsome! Whoever receives the final rose will be one lucky family indeed. It never ceases to amaze me how many dogs in shelters are already family-ready like him. I know I'm preaching to the choir, but I wish more people would give shelter dogs a chance! I can't wait to see more pictures of him and read about his adventures with your pooches.
Who could abandon that gorgeous smiling face?
Boris I sure do hope you find your forever family.
Emma
