Things to Do with Your Dog in Chicago: Long Summer Weekends

Each winter as we're sitting in our homes, hibernating, I'm secretly envisioning everything we're going to do once the temperatures rise and we have our long summer weekends.
Things like relaxing outside at cafes (sans computers), fruit and freshly cut flowers from Farmer's Markets, searching for food trucks, meeting friends at festivals, and a nice roll in cool grass.
Long daily walks and pier picnics, making sorbets and impromptu picnics:
We have big aspirations, but these are all on our list for this long holiday weekend.
What other pooch-friendly activities does everyone have planned?

PSS.  And more elaborate summer plans.

Check our Facebook page for more photos and updates over the break!

If this heat would break, I'd love to get in some hiking, but as it is, we're feeling really housebound. I see some trips to the lake in our future for a little relief from cabin fever. I really do hope we can get out and see some interesting sights nearby in the very near future! I'm hoping we'll be able to get back up for the Mercury Cruise again this summer, too.

It's too hot to do anything:( Our dogs do better in winter than summer, but we don't have winters like you have in Chicago. Our dogs can live vicariously through Mr. B and Miss M in the summer!
