Pooches: Mr. B vs cats

Whenever Mr. B comes across a cat, he starts jumping around, whimpering, crying, and pulling at the leash. Even after the cat has long passed, he will continue to look around for it. We cannot tell if he wants to hug the cat or crush the cat. When we adopted Mr. B, we were told that he used to live with cats and a friend of ours, who happens to be a cat lover, tells us that dogs that used to live with cats now think that their best friend, the cat, is dead and believes it's their friend whenever they see another cat. Last summer, Mr. B had a run in with a feral cat. This cat was guarding our gate and we couldn't get in. Mr. B started whimpering and lunging at the cat and while I'm holding Mr. B the cat came right up to Mr. B and took a swipe at him. Eventually, our neighbor lead the cat away from our gate, but she was clawed in the process. Mr. B starts hopping like a marionette and whimpering whenever he sees this cat from our front windows. A calls him Captain Ahab who keeps looking for his Moby Dick, the cat. So one day when I was watching a video on Youtube about two cats talking, Mr. B started running around looking for the cats. Here is a reenactment of that event:

Looks like Mr. B needs a cat. If it makes you feel any better, my Quizz has always been an enthusiastic cat connoisseur of cats. Kittens adore him, the older ones hate his guts and he is crushed.

That is until Charlie, the Cat came into our lives. He was the one that didn't his and run at the sight of a butt-wiggly bundle of energy that loved him some cat. Instead he looked at Quizz with utter disdain and stalked off. We knew that was the cat for us.

Now they live in domestic peace. Quizz plays with the cat, the cat beats up the dog and the dog loves every minute of it.

And if we are really, really quiet and sneaky, we'll catch them taking a nap together.

Aww, he's adorable looking for the cat. I agree he needs a cat of his own! My pittie Noelle likes to chase the cats, but if they don't run from her she just sniffs them and walks away. I have had foster kittens curl up next to her for naps also - so cute!

He's so cute, just looking and looking for the cat. Then the quick shot of Ms. M wondering why she wasn't the focus of the video... Too funny!

Oh Mr. B.,
When our Airedale was a puppy the next door neighbor cat took a swipe at him and it turned Angus into a cat stalker from then on. He just went crackers whenever he saw one.

That does not look like a dog that wants to eat a cat. The puppy ears near the end of the clip make me go 'AWWWWW"
