Pooches: City Dog, Country Pit Bull

We have always joked that Miss M. is the ultimate urban dog. While she was rescued from the "mean streets of Chicago", since she has joined us she has become the ultimate city diva. She loves the excitement and people in the city, but she really isn't a nature dog.
She considers herself too delicate to stay outside on the porch for too long. She will complain to go inside, and then stare at us from the confides of the air-conditioning:
And she makes sure to always put herself to bed early so she can get plenty of beauty rest:
This was all especially evident when we went camping. It was kind of like that episode of Sex in the City where Carrie Bradshaw tries to enjoy the great outdoors. From the moment we arrived, Miss M seemed miserable. She would snap and try to eat the flies and gnats. Then realizing she couldn't handle the "country", she retired into the tent.
She was quick to come back out when she realized we were eating food, but then she had a horrible run-in with the smores getting a marshmallow to the head, and her white fur was covered with dust:
Meanwhile, Mr. B was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, he lived in a foster home on a lake, and he can't get enough of the outdoors. Even in the city he gravitates to piles of grass and while camping he was happily frolicking and rolling in leaves. He had a big smile the entire time:I wonder how much of a dog's hometown dictates whether they're truly city or country dogs?

Miss M is just a girly girl! No tomboy whatsoever! She and I would get along well!

Hey, give the girl a break! She just likes her creature comforts.

Miss M & Lilly should get together. They are both total diva-girls but also street smart at the same time.

I has been camping and like it (mom not so much - she be just like Miss M when it comes to camping) and I hike in the natures efurry weekend and LOVE it! But I know I is not a country dog coz I do be allergic to hay.

Aww, Miss. M is such a princess. She seems delicate and dainty. :) There is nothing graceful or dainty about Bogart. He's probably more like Mr. B. He loves the outdoors!

Miss M is too funny! She is definitely a city dog.

haha I love that she is so girly!!

Ps. your right about the sheets that target carries thats the brand of the brown and white polka dot ones I got. I picked up some awesome damask print material and actually found a lady yesterday in my neighborhood who would make me some sheets out of it :) I totally agree with you on the fact that most of the time the beds are UGLY to be displaying out in the house!

Baily and Mesa are both from Anchorage. They love to go hiking but Baily is quite prissy. Big Carl is all city dog (he's from LA).

Don't forget, we moved to http://dogisgodinreverse.com/

Darwin is like Miss M... a total city girl. While she loves camping because she can sleep with us, she cant stand the bugs and wont lay on the dirt. And she hates the heat. ahhaha

That's funny about Miss M. I have lived my whole life in the city, but I LOVE visiting the country. I have never camped, maybe I wouldn't like that, but I like being outside in the fresh air.

Your pal, Pip

P.S.: A couple of us Chicago area dogs and human assistants are going on the dog cruise this Sunday morning if you want to join us. Email me if you want more information.

I'm not sure if it's how they're raised or whether they just have their own preferences like we do. They're both awfully cute and I don't think I'd care for a marshmallow on my head, either! ;)

Poor Miss M! There's nothing wrong with wanting to enjoy life's little luxuries.

Now, both me and Brudder Ranger grew up in the country and we luvs to be outdoors. Mainly I luvs to be outdoors so I can eat grass. But I like to be indoors, too, cuz that's where the bed is, you know. Sometimes I wish I could be indoors and outdoors at the same time. Mom says that's not pawsible but I think she's not trying hard enough.

Like I told you, I didn't like camping so much the last time we tried it but Brudder Ranger LUVS camping so I'm willing to gives it another chance.

Mayzie

So I can hold the palm frond and fan Miss M while Mr. B feeds her itty bitty yummy meat pieces by paw. When she's satiated and ready for her queen's rest, Mr. B and I will take off to explore the great outdoors :)

Good plan? Only want everyone to be smiling on our outing :)

Thinkin I would have a lot of fun camping with y'all,
Roo

PeeS: The doggy cruise sounds like a blast! Don't forget the camera please :)

Tillman's first trip to the country was pure bliss! I think he thinks he's a hunting dog, not so much a pit bull:) love your stories and pictures of course!

Hi! We came via the BlogHop and are glad we stopped by! You've got us giggling about the camping thing. Abby and I like hiking but we're spoiled - we've got a House With Wheels (a motorhome) so that we can retire to the air conditioning at the end of the day!

Miss M you DIVA! And Mr B, that picture of you is so goofy. I just love you guys!

I can't believe that Miss M actually went into the tent to get away from the flies and gnats. That's pretty smart of her. Poor thing. Such torture!

I'd love to camp but I think my Mama and Daddy would have trouble with me. I love to track and sniff and all those critters to track!
Wahoo.
My mom says she sympathizes with Miss M. She says city girls should stick together.
Nice to meet you. Gotta go!

Just found your blog and its wonderful! I'm hoping some of your pit bull love might make its way over to my household. I'd love to adopt such a pup if only I can convince my boyfriend. Pit bulls have a pretty bad rap in Philadelphia...
