Even though Mr. B has his very own tepee, the pooches always end up squeezing both their 80 lb pittie-bodies together into Miss M's small crate:
Though it's obvious Mr. B is not as comfortable in the crate as Miss M:
We were trying to remember how they first started sharing a crate, and we stumbled upon this 'vintage video' from the first week we adopted Mr. B. Not quite what we expected.
My favorite parts are Mr. B's nervous laughter and Miss M's pained expression:

Good thing they like each other!! Hard to beleive they both fit in there, but they do look happy about it!!
They are so cute together! Always bring a smile to my face.
Your pal, Pip
I love the fact that they can share their space with each other.
It says so much about their demeanor:)
So sweet my teeth hurt! I LOVE the look on their faces.
Momma Heartbeat
they are matching in every way! heheh there is no way you would find my two squeezing into a crate like that! as soon as Bender realised the crate door closes, he stopped going in there!
I used to sleep in my foster sister, Belle's, crate with her all the time! We loved being in the crate together! Love the video... they're so adorable!

I think that's the first time I've seen Miss M at a loss. She just looks stunned!
haha that is a great video!

That video is absolutely classic. So wonderful that you have that!
it would be difficult to overstate my jealousy over this. our wonderdogs are at the "tolerate" stage, but they are still a ways off from "love" and "want to snuggle in one crate together." i don't know if it will change for the duration of our fosterdom with Lollie, but i still have hopes. Chick is definitely a snuggler, but unfortunately none of his dog friends are, so whenever he tries, they abruptly get up and walk away, leaving him looking pouty and sad.

I am so glad you posted about crate sharing. Mr. B and Ms. M are just great together. I was actually going to ask you guys what you recommend concerning buying a joint crate or two individuals. Kitty and Coco are always together, and we are slightly concerned that separating them would really freak Kitty out. Also, they will be in the crate while we are at work and I worry it is too long to be in there. Any thougts? We should have done this as they were pups, but didn't.
THAT IS SO GOOD TO GET ON SO WELL, THEY OBVIOUSLY LIKE EACH OTHERS COMPANY. I THINK MOST DOGS DO. AFTER THE AMOUNT I HAVE HAD ON FOSTER SO MANY DIFFERENT TYPES, I HAVE ONLY HAD ONE THAT I HAD TO TAKE BACK. SHE WAS FINE AND PLAYED WITH PIP THE FIRST DAY, THEN SHE ATTACHED HERSELF TO ME SO MUCH THAT SHE WENT STIFF AND GROWLED IF HE CAME NEAR ME.
This is the kind of relationship I'd love to be able to give my dog. If we ever adopt a second, the new dog needs to be a friend to my current dog. If she is not then she will not be the right dog for our home.
I know it takes time to build such relationships and it wasn't all crate-sharing happiness when you first adopted Mr. B but there was obviously something about him you recognized would fit well with Ms. M.
You have created such a warm and loving family. It's so beautiful to see.
I love this video! Mr B's like, "oh no, back in a crate... I don't care if it's already taken!"
Could Mr. B. look more proud of himself and happy? Ms. M. is probably telling him, "okay, you can rent this space, but I will forever use you as furniture as payment."
They make me smile. I love it!
Precious!! And that video is really funny. It seems to give a good snapshot to both of your pups personalities.
Those are officially some of the cutest dang pictures I have ever seen!
Haha! I love the mortified look on Ms. M's face. Mr. B looks so proud of himself. I think he and Bogart would make a good comedy pair. They're both just big goofballs. lol.
Oh my goodness funny how they are in jail together. Cell mates are good but you definitely need to like the other kid. So cute
Benny & Lily
WOW!!! This is so cute, I actually laughed out loud! They are loves...
Oh, so cozy and so cute! They just want to be together!
Wyatt and Stanzie
Hilarious! To be fair to Mr. B, he did go back into a crate, even if it wasn't the one he started out in. He certainly understood "wait" when you said it! He's such a goof.
Kitty & Coco: Though our dogs do like to be together, they still like personal space and I think if you had 2 crates, but placed together, it should be ok. Are you looking to have the crates with the doors shut? Or just for denning purposes? If you're going to leave them in the crate for awhile, make sure to do crate training. We found out Mr. B has crate anxiety. If we have him in a shut crate he will use his face as a battering ram to push his way out. He actually succeeded and destroyed, and escaped from, a metal crate. We wrote more about crate training here: http://pittiesincity.blogspot.com/2010/07/pooches-crate-training.html
RescuedInsanity: We actually went through a lot when looking for a second dog to match with Diva Miss M. At first we were fostering a dog with her same energy level, and our life was miserable. Then we realized we needed an older, submissive male, and it seems to work for both of them!
AHA! So the crate-sharing is all Mr. B's fault and Miss M is just making him pay for that first most egregious indiscretion. She is Most Wise.

PeeS. I will forgives you for being a Nebraska fan.
Aww, they're inseparable.
This post is so sweet! Miss M's face in the video is priceless... "Umm... what exactly is going on here??" (I'm the one making that face in my vintage videos so I sympathize with her.)

Sometimes and only sometimes I will let Pip lie close to me
Thanks for sharing the video, it was very funny. I am amazed they both fit in one crate and like it!
Congratualations on your teaching certificate!!
Kirby's Mom
What a pair! Love the vintage video.
They are too funny. Not long ago we had a tornado warning and someone filmed what looked like an actual touchdown (wasn't) just up the street. I jumped up off the couch and temporarily put Stella in her crate WITH THE CAT. The look on their faces was priceless..kinda' like Miss M's :)
