This past weekend marked the start of our festival season with the Do Division street festival. Though the festival is a short walk from our place, both Ms. M and Mr. B were exhausted, but Bella was full of energy and excited to take in all the sights and sounds of the 'party.'
The pooches were great models and event goers even commented on how they look like they were posing for pictures. However after a few photo sessions, all the pooches were exhausted. It was a full, exciting and a warm day. We can't wait to go to our next festival.
P.S: Chicago People--We'll be taking the pooches on Red Door Animal Shelter's fundraising dog-walk event and we wanted to see if anyone wanted to join us. If you don't have a dog, or your dog can't join, we would love for someone to help us walk Bella! Info on the event here.

you KNOW how much we love festivals, especially with our pup. its a great skill to have three dogs and two people, glad it worked out!
Is it really possible for Miss M to be as cute as she is? I mean really there should be some sort of regulation of her cuteness cause her face gets me every time. A warning I may squeal if I ever really meet these dogs. But not to worry I would approach you and them very calmly.
We were there Saturday night with the dogs. We got mauled by people wanting to pet them, and because it smelled like food Rudie refused to even look at anyone that didn't have a corndog in their hand. Sorry we missed you guys, hopefully we run into each other at some point this summer!
This is a very interesting post! I have to admit I am one of the people who has a lingering prejudice about pit bulls, and regular reading of your blog has made me realise the attraction of these beautiful dogs.
I think they are good pets for people like you, who understand their dogs and put the time in to socialise them and enable them to lead happy and full lives.
It bothers me when I see people who have bought them as a kind of 'status symbol' and don't understand that they need lots of socialisation and love.
Do you have the same situation in the US, that unsuitable people are often attracted to this breed?
Mr. B's face cracks me up. He looks so happy and clownish, haha. I'm glad everyone had a great time!
Parlance--Yes, we do have a similar situation here in the US where people have been attracted to the breed as a type of 'status symbol' without recognizing how to be positive and supportive owners. While this is troublesome, it has been really nice to see more responsible owners adopting pit bulls and educating others about how amazing they really are. We're optimistic that soon the positive references will outweigh the negative.
We love that you guys get to go to the street festivals. What fun.

How fun! How I wish I could come and help walk Miss Bella! I love the photo of her curled around E's leg. Looks like she found a friend!
You can tell Miss M was feeling the heat wave

The festival looked like a blast! It is awesome to see how well Bella is doing. She is a pretty girl. I bet that was her first ice cream experience. Good luck at your walking event.
What a fun festival day! It's awesome that you've been able to take Bella out on the town and show her off! We know you'll help find the perfect home for her. And that is quite generous of Miss M to loan her such a special collar. It does look fab with her fur! Can't wait to see pics of the Red Door walk! If you see Pip, tell him we said HI! Have fun!

Looks like a fun time! Ice cream and everything!
Whew! There were sure a lotta hot, happy tongues in those pictures. And that ice cream looked super delicious!
Mom wishes I was a festive kinda dog but I can get a little nervous around lots of people and lots of ruckus. So she'll just have to live vicariously through you guys!

bella is getting so big! also, i didn't notice before that she has a bit of bull terrier in the shape of her head/snout.
regardless, it's nice to see that the three of them get along as well as they do :)
How fun! Love the pictures!
It's great that the festivals are starting up, but these record high temps have been so hard on the dogs. I hope we get some normal weather before true summer sets in. At least they had their ice cream to cool them down!
Hiya! We do agree with Parlance... If only, only responsible people would have the breed :( And if all those people who are against the breed could see that to those who give Pitties a bad name it doesn't matter what kind of dog they have as long as it is big... So with all the prejudice they only hurt the people who love their Pitties. :(
So it's the same in Australia and in Germany too :( :(
Fingers crossed that things will change.
Slobbers Master T. and hooman :)
It was very nice meeting you and your friends and your beautiful pitties in Indian Boundary Park this morning. It was great to meet another Bruno, even though ours was still waking up and a bit grumpy. I will keep an ear out to see if anyone wants a Bella. :) Hope to see you again sometime!
