Mending it Whole

We often write about Mr. B's love for his stuffies and the training that helped him to be gentle with his stuffies. However, that is not the whole story. Though I have never sewed in my life, I had a crash course in sewing by repairing all of Mr. B's stuffies. His stuffies go through a lot of wear and tear, because he carries his best friends all around the house and on the porch and sometimes around the neighborhood.
Though he really is very gentle, there are times he will get riled up and start destuffing his stuffies. These are usually triggered by new visitors or after a great walk with his favorite person, our dog walker.
Yesterday, I decided to mend several of his stuffies, so Mr. B had to lay patiently and wait until his best friends were whole again.
Like an impatient boy, he would watch intently making sure that his friends are okay,
but oftentimes the waiting becomes too much and he has to be reunited with his partially whole best friend.

OH, how I just love Mr. B! He is such a doll, and so precious with his stuffies!

This is terrific. Bruce Wayne's best friend, Mr. Sharky, went through many surgeries in his day. Now you can add "Stuffy Surgeon" to your resume!

Too cute. A stuffie last a whole ten minutes with Mugsy. Someday......

What a sweet post!

P.S.: I am trying to find a home for a very special older cat. You can read more about him in my post today. Just in case you know anyone in the Chicago area who might consider adopting or fostering him. Thanks!

That's so funny! Daniel is the resident mender of things at our house too! Although, he is mending much more often because we have not yet gotten Turk to master the art of being gentle with his stuffies!

Mr. B you have to be careful and make sure there are no pins or needles in it before you wander off with it.

Hahaha my mom used to do this when I was growing up - our Britney Spainel would sometimes pull out the stuffing from one of her toys and then bring it over to my mom to fix!

Nala does the same thing w visitors except with my slippers - she gets so excited she will start ramming her nose into my closet door until I open it bc apparently nothing makes her happier than having something that touches my feet in her mouth! She is pretty gentle with them and just likes to parade them around, although I noticed this am one of them is starting to come apart (must have been last weekend's excitement when Nala's grandma came into town!)

Mr. B is still so gentle when he is swiping back his pal. Such a love.

I've been thinking of repairing Devo's orange fluffy. He's had it since Christmas and the poor thing is so sad looking. But he loves it so much. He brings it to me every day when I get home from work. I'm glad I'm not the only person who has considered dog to operations. Looks like I'll have something to do this weekend.

That is so funny, and timely for us...my girl just started de-stuffing her favorite stuffy yesterday. I took it away from her, and she sat there staring me down until she could have it back!! Love my girl, and love your blog!!

Do you have any tips for mending stuffies? Badger would probably have a blast ripping out stitches.

The only way stuffies stay intact in our house is if Hades' toys stay in his crate and his sister doesn't get a hold of them--otherwise they end up in a game of tug.

Mr. B that was really nice of your Mom to fix up your friends. Ours usually go in the trash :( We do have a sack of our special ones that need mending but I'm not holding my breath on that ;) Dad is even saying we need to go through our toys and pick out the ones that need thrown away and the ones we dog play with regularly need donated to doggies in need of something squeaky.

Mr. B. must have been very concerned as all of his friends underwent surgery, especially since the surgeon was a little inexperienced;)
