It was just the other day that Lola and Franklin's person pointed out so many of us have 'matched set' dogs. Like Wilie and Nabi from our SociaBulls group, former foster dog SuperLevi and his new Superdog sister Greta, and even our pitbull doppelgangers Miss Molly and Mr. Brodie all the way in Alaska.
The funny thing is, many people on our daily walks stop and ask whether the pooches are twins. But really, they are far from being twins. I think they have most people tricked:
Miss M is tall; Mr B is short.
Miss M is brindle; Mr B is gray.
We even think they're different types of pitbull-type dogs.
But much like a married couple, we've seen them start to morph into a single pooch.
Even when they're not touching:
I wonder whether we're automatically drawn to similar types of dogs? Or is it typical for dogs to start resembling eachother over time?

I just LOVE these two!!
I had 2 matched sets when I had the GSDs! When I was searching for my second cat, I wanted one that looked like Harry, the cat I had first! I'm not sure why but I know Calhoun needed another Boxer to play with so I got Lucy!

Matched sets of dogs are awesome. Badger and Mushroom don't really match beyond being medium-sized pitbull-type mixes, but maybe they will grow to be more alike.
They are great but look not like twins!
They are so cute and coordinate so well. I love the paired poses. While our dogs are different, we do have the matched set of cats, who pose like M & B: http://afranklinaday.blogspot.com/2012/01/twins.html
Sadie & Maggie, though they look nothing alike, often acted like the married couple and did those mirror image kind of things. Now that we have Hurley, we don't see a lot of that anymore. Just brown team and black team. And since Maggie is solo on the black team, that means we need to get a 4th dog, a black one, to even things out, right? Ha!
I've always been the odd one out with my VERY mis-matched pair of pups. But your "matching pair" is adorable.
That is too funny. I think it's true. Our Devo and Bella, which were M's first, look so alike sometimes I think they're related. They have the same tail markings. I ruined that matching pair by bringing my Buddy into the mix. I still think they're a great looking bunch.
These photos are over the top adorable! I don't think I'll be looking for a match to my dog when the time comes but I love the idea of matched set dogs. Miss M and Mr. B make a beautiful pair!
I definitely do not have a matched set! My girls are completely different. Somehow they love each other :)
they may look a bit a like (though I see a lot of AmBull in Ms. M), but through your blog I can certainly tell that their personalities are more complimentary then matching, right? Maybe that's the secret to two perfectly paired dogs... I have NO idea since we've never owned two dogs!
Our 3 could not look more different from each other, but Annie & Chloe do have the same mannerisms. Pauley is so different in every way, they may think he is an alien. We love the pics!
So adorable and thanks for the shout out! I think we were drawn to a similar dog for sure but the pups are definitely different, Molly is shy, lanky and agile and Brodie is exuberantly friendly, stocky and slow. Gotta love opposites :)
Hehe those pictures make me want a sibling!

Holy cow - those are AMAZING pictures! So sweet!!
If Parker and Skye start resembling each other, I'll let you know! I will say that I seem to be attracted to one certain "look" of pit bull more than others. I love them all, but the short stocky types (Skye) seem to catch my eye.
I love your dogs and am so glad I stumbled upon your blog. We also have a matched bully set and often get questions if they are from the same litter. I think Miss M looks an awful lot like our American Bulldog or possibly a boxer mix.
Ha ha! Your "matching set" is so dang cute. So glad to have found your blog!
I once ran across a website (sorry dont have the link anymore) that allowed you to upload a photo of yourself and it would pair you with a dog that "resembled" you. The theory was that humans chose dogs with features like their own. Out of curiosity I did it twice, first I was paired with a red staffordshire terrier (I own a blonde one) and second a yorkshire terrier (I also own one!) What are the odds?! Perhaps your "matching pair" is a reflection of your personalities, that just happen to be so similar!
My dogs are opposite of each other, but apparently a reflection of me. :)
I always say if I get another it will be a white pittie like my first so I think we are drawn to certain looks. I also love black and white kitties and have a few of those too!
