SociaBulls: Dog "Window Shopping" (or SociaBull's Amazing Adoptables)

Before I adopted Miss M, I was a 'dog window shopper'. It started out casually perusing Petfinder, which soon turned into going to the dogpark with my friend and 'picking out' the dog I was going to get. Not to mention that all the dogs at the park were already owned and accounted for, and I really didn't have the chance to adopt any of them.
But maybe there is someone out there who has casually been perusing our SociaBulls photos and 'picking out' the dog they want. Though in our case, there are several amazing adoptables who are looking for their own homes. Check out some of our adoptables; the top photo will be of the adoptable dogs with the photos underneath of our latest walk (in a great new location!).

Lil' Leroy
Lil' Leroy has to be one of the happiest-go-lucky pups we've ever met. He loves people so much that he spent the end of our walk on his back just waiting to get belly rubs. Plus he's a smart guy, when he saw his now foster mom walking down the aisles at ACC he literally took his paw and wrapped it around her ankle so she would notice him. He is living in a home with 2 other pitbulls, and it's hard to tell from the photos but he's a compact tiny guy. You can read more about Lil' Leroy, from Chicagoland Bully Breed Rescue, here.

Hossa
Hossa is a laid-back 1-year old pitbull mix who loves all the people and dogs he meets. His rescue said he is even the 'go to' dog to dog test with the new guys. He is even more gorgeous in person than these photos can show. You can read more about Hossa, from Project Rescue Chicago, here.

Estelle:
Estelle is a sweet cow-marked "pocket pittie" who loves learning new tricks and is amazing with children. Her foster mom has worked so much with her, and though intially unsure when meeting new dogs on leash, the group has been helping her tremendously as she now walks with several dogs at once. She is also living well in her foster home with 2 other pitbull-type dogs. You may recognize her from the great write up about little Estelle here, and you can read more about her (plus see dress up photos!), available through It's a Pittie rescue, here.

Taylor:
Taylor is one of our newest adoptable members who is just a laid-back, easy-going pooch. The camera can't capture how truly gorgeous this guy is; his fur is the color of the inside of a seashell! You can read more about Taylor, available through Chicago Canine Rescue, here.

Dillion
Dillion is a gorgeous, happy-go-lucky pitbull mix; he also happens to be deaf. His foster mom says the only real difference is that since he can't hear, he is completely in tune with his person always watching and waiting for direction; he is already trained in basic hand signals. Dillion has one of the biggest smiles, that you could be waking up to each morning. He even has his own facebook page here, and he is available through Secondhand Snoots, here.

Lola
Lola is another gorgeous, laid-back pooch who also has the special talent of changing her ears with her feelings (did you see what she managed to do in our header photo?). Since the first day she joined, she was completely laid back. She is a great urban dog who is unphazed by all the noises, people and other dogs. She would be the perfect city companion for everything going on this summer. She is great with other dogs and is very easy in the home. She is fine as a single dog, or she would probably be a really easy addition as a second dog.
Lola is desperately looking for a new foster home--she will need one in the next 2 weeks!--or her very own long-awaited home. She has been waiting so patiently. You can read more about Lola, available through Chicagoland Bully Breed Rescue, here.
Please share these amazing adoptables to help in their search for their new homes.

Plus, join our Chicago SociaBulls  Facebook page for more photos and information about group walks. And check this link from the DINOs (Dogs in Need of Space) group to read more about the benefits of dog-walking groups and to see if there is a group in your area.
Please Note: As the weather has warmed up, bikers, runners, dogs, and kids have come out in full force in many of the areas that we walk. While we had previously been introducing new members a few at a time to each walk, we've decided that in order to continue to keep our group safe and make our walks a positive experience for everyone, we are putting new members "on hold" for the summer. You can still submit an application, and it will go on our wait list in the order it is received. Once things quiet down a bit more in the fall, we will resume introducing new members a few at a time to each walk, and will be contacting people on the wait list in a first-come, first-served manner.

Such gorgeous pups! I can't believe Estelle is still not adopted, but I guess it's her need to be an only dog that is slowing things down? She's SO freaking cute!

Actually Estelle is great with other dogs (that she knows) and would make a great second dog. But it takes a bit for her to be comfortable around new dogs and her leash reactivity makes it difficult to showcase her at traditional adoption events. At her foster home she plays the submissive roles to an alpha male and young female.

What handsome pretty precious goofbags. I'm so happy they are all lucky enough to have some advocates and some angels helping them get socialized and ready for amazing new homes.

I admit, I still often find myself windowshopping on Petfinder. Even though the last thing I need right now is a second dog, it's still fun to look. And dream.

I am so glad your walking group has been so successful!

The awesome thing about your blog, and a lot of my pitty blog friends, it seems like every day is a Pitty Post Day! I love reading all the wonderful things you do in your area and I always enjoy reading about your socialbull walks!

Wow, such great adoptables! Especially Dillon. He is a catch. Petfinder lures me in often until my husband says NO. One day though....Kitty and Coco will get another sibling.
