Pooches: Mr B's First Impression

The other night when we saw this going on again, A and I were wondering if Mr. B really did enjoy being 'life partners' with Miss M. Or if he just kind of accepted his arranged situation.
Even though Miss M is the pushy one now, when she first met Mr. B he was so excited to meet her. And she was the one playing hard to get. When he saw Miss M from afar, he was pulling to see her so much it was almost like his mom was on roller skates. Even as we did the introductory walk, he couldn't take his eyes off of her. Again, Miss M paid him no heed. He just seemed smitten with our Miss M.
Mr. B believed he has met the Miss M of his dreams. Which lasted the traditional honeymoon period.
It was only later that the tables were turned and Miss M realized how much she loved Mr B....he was the pet dog of her dreams.
I wonder if most dog pairs get along, tolerate eachother, or just grow to like eachother like an arranged marriage?

It's pretty obvious they adore each other. I think dog pairs go through a learning curve: one sided adoration to mutual acceptance to becoming two halves of one being.

I just finished fostering a pittie girl for five months who adored my dog Stewart but quickly learned from him that he was NOT the touchy-feely type. Soon they were laying next to each other and sticking up for each other at the park. Now that Shirley is in her new forever home I don't have the heart to dismantle her kennel because poor Stewart frequently crawls in and curls up in her blankets :( He finally learned the beauty of trusting another and companionship. He'll have a new foster sibling soon enough.

Love your posts.

I could never imagine not having at least two pups. Right now we have sisters that adore each other, but before we had two that grew to be best friends.

It's been a curve on this end, for sure. Edison has always been interested in Tess and Tess wanted nothing to do with him. She's grown to tolerate him and I think he really loves her. We always find him cuddling up on her (but never the other way around). But I do think that it's only a matter of time before she starts really enjoying him, too!

LOVE LOVE LOVE the pictures! I think your dogs are very sophisticated to have evolving feelings :)
Petey is a one note "I LOVE YOU MADLY" kind of guy :)

Gambit adored two of our fosters and was very friendly with another. Eddie tolerated Gambit for a long time, and they were amicable but not best buddies. Now we catch them cuddling on occasion. Gambit sometimes exhibits rude overly-friendly dog behaviors and Eddie doesn't like when dogs are rude to him.

We have always been lucky that our dogs get along so well. There are moments when I see Maggie just "tolerating" Hurley and Hurley tolerating Sadie but then they go and do stuff that shows me there's a deeper relationship beyond simple tolerance of another dog. They are family.

That is pretty adorable. My dogs kind of do the same thing, only they don't really show any liking of each other when at home. I just actually did a post about how well they get along and play, though, despite having very little interest in each other when they were first introduced.

You guys are the sweetest Pitties we ever knew. I still wonder if Chubby is leaving. It's been 4 years but I am just starting to live him

We only have Wilbur so I don't know about pairing up dogs but when I read this something clicked, and I realized you described Hans and me (he'd die of embarrassment if he knew I wrote this!).
