Pooches: Mr. B's Whole New World

Many people who meet Mr. B on the street cannot believe that he is over 10 years old, but it is easy to see why so many people are in disbelief.
He doesn't understand the meaning of walk.
He is so excited to be on the walk, that he must sprint across every street to get to the other side where the world is full of new and exciting smells.
He sees every ledge as a whole new world that is shining, shimmering and splendid
and every obstacle an opportunity to gain a new fantastic point of view.
Mr. B enjoys soaring, tumbling, freewheeling through the endless grime filled city streets.
Perhaps Mr. B realizes that he is in his golden years and he must spread his joy as much as he can as long as he can.

I love it! Both of my dogs run wherever they go...run to get outside, run while they are outside, run to get inside...it's just run all the time! Of course, they are 6 1/2 and 3 1/2 years old...I hope they are still running like that when they are 10!

I sorta want to buy him a super hero cape! And a leotard! Although knowing you, he probably already has those!

You take the best pictures of Mr. B and they capture his personality so well!

So, first of all, that song is going to be stuck in my head the rest of the day. :) And I LOVE that! Those pics are so fab. That's just how Emmett is, too. There's this metal guard rail along one of the sidewalks we traverse, and every day he BLOOPS over it again and again, just for fun! Just like Mr. B, he's having a ball in his golden years!

How funny! I love those Mr. B expressions!. Felix has been exhibiting a certain joie de vie of late as well. Something about those old dogs and being filled with shenanigans.

Haha…this reminds me of when we first got Ender and everyone told us, "oh don't worry he'll calm down at around age 4 or so." I think he's pushing year 5 and still as "enthusiastic" as ever. Strangers often still call him a puppy.

I wonder sometimes how dogs perceive age. Surely they must perceive it in some way, but probably not the way we humans do! Mr. B sounds like my Katie. She should be over 13 years old now... and much of the time she does walk slowly. However if a circumstance involves food in any way, shape, or form, some earlier puppy version of Katie takes over that has left my jaw hanging open more than once. She leaps several steps at a time, rocketing from the front porch, across the house, doing little goat leaps around the kitchen. "Who are you little dog, and what did you do with Katie??!"
