Chicagoing: West Fest Neighborhood Festival

It seems like every year, West Fest keeps getting bigger and better. This is one festival that we try to attend every year. This festival has something for everyone: live music, DJs, dog stuff and kid stuff, plus it is just down the street from us. Ms. M loves going to festivals, because there are great treasures to be found, like this empty beer cup. Lucky for her, but unlucky for us, there were dropped food and spilled beer everywhere on the festival grounds.
While many of the festival goers were people watching, we were busy animal watching. West Fest is one of the most dog friendly neighborhood festival. There are other animals besides dogs, here is Percy the iguana with her owner.
The only sad thing was that it rained on and off while we were at the festival. However, we were able to find a dry spot and the pooches waited nicely, while
it rained and all this was going on around them.
Eventually, Mr. B found a more comfortable spot on the sidewalk.
A is a big fan of carny food, and she really enjoyed the fine dining experience, which included our first ever elephant ear, courtesy of our friend, M.The best part of the festival were all the people that we met. There were so many people that came up to meet the pooches and it was nice that Wilma was so popular and we were able to talk to potential adopters.

Your first elephant ear? How in the world have you made it this far through life without one?? Those things are like little pieces of heaven!

Sounds like a great time! I hope Wilma found a future home while you were there!

Elephant ear...mmmMMMMM! I'm guessing that ground food was a big hit too. It can't be long until Wilma finds a forever home especially if she's able to meet people face-to-face.

I too also never heard of elephant ears. Neither have my humans. Is it a Chicago thing? What's it made of?

Looks like a lovely time. I enjoy festivals quite a bit myself.

Oh my God I am so jealous of how well behaved your kids are in public like that.
We have been taking ours out since we got them but they are no where near that well behaved.
Can I send my kids to your house for boot camp?

I've never heard of an elephant ear. Is that a local food? It looks good though!

Getting Wilma out like that is the best way to get her adopted. How can someone pass her up when she's sitting there so politely in a big crowd of people? She sounds like a dream.

That looks like it was a TON of fun.

How have you lived all this time and never had an Elephant Ear?! It boggles the mind!

It looks like an awesome event! I hope somebody took a shine to Miss Wilma and she finds a home soon! I love that iguana!

Hey! I was thinking, if you're interested, that I could feature Wilma in an I'd Like You to Meet post so that my readers could see her and get know her and potentially adopt her! Just a thought, let me know!

I think that big black pup with the up ears is what Captain would be if he was a large dog!

Sounds like a fun time was had by all!

That festival looks super cool. We love dog-friendly places like that. Gosh, I bet Wilma attracted lots of attention with her two sidekicks there.
My grandpawrent (we call him Pops) owns a flea market and there is carny food galore there! Want to come for a visit? Hello funnel cake and homeade fried pies.
