Three Pitties in the City: Meet Foster Dog Wilma!

This summer, we decided to become a bit more involved in dog rescue...so we're fostering a dog! This is Wilma from Project Rescue. Wilma was living at Mr. B. and Miss M's doggy daycare. She really loves people, so the rescue knew she would be much happier living in a home until she's adopted. Luckily, the pooches had already met her at daycare, so they were quick to welcome her into our home.
Wilma is a petite pitbull. She weighs in at a mere 40-something pounds, which is nearly half of what our pooches weigh. With her gorgeous red coloring and wrinkly face, she almost looks like a "teacup French mastiff". She is about 2 years old and full grown.Wilma gets along fantastically with other dogs. As Wilma is getting adjusted, Miss M was even kind enough to let her lay on her favorite floor pillow
and took to just laying on the floor:
Wilma was quick to hang out with Miss M in her crate. Though Miss M realized she didn't like being used as a body pillow:
And quickly reversed that situation:
And after a short breaking in period, she took back her favorite pillow, regardless if someone was already using it.

So far, Wilma is acclimating well, and we'll continue to post updates. Let us know if you, or anyone you know in the Chicagoland area, would be interested in meeting and/or adopting her.

Oh my gosh! She is just so stinkin' cute! I can't imagine that she'd have to wait too long to find a permanent home.

We used to foster (before the inn was full) and I found it to be a very fun and rewarding experience! Enjoy your time with Ms. Wilma!

Wilma is so cute! I guess Ms. M now knows what it's like to be used as someone's pillow (cue Mr. B - "See, see!"). Good luck with the fostering. I hope Wilma finds her forever home soon.

Ohmidog! Ohmidog! Ohmidog! Wilma is SOOOOOO Most Adorable! I luvs her face! I'm guessing she's about the same size I am (I weigh 40 whole pounds) so it's kinda fun to see her size next to Miss M's. Oh, I'm so happy for Wilma that she gets to live in YOUR house with Miss M and Mr. B. It looks like everybuddy is getting along famously. My paws are crossed that she finds her Most Perfect Home That Ever Was real soon!

Wilma is just eat-me-up adorable! She is tiny compared to the others, isn't she. I kind of think she's small enough to keep, don't you? ;0)

Wilma could be my Wilbur's 'little' sister (even though she's older). I can't imagine her not finding a home she's so cute. The crate pictures are too funny and I love it when they decide to share.

She is just precious! And so little!
That is just awesome that Ms. M and Mr. B are so hospitable about sharing their parents and home.
Bless their hearts; you should be so proud.

I never realized Ms. M was so huge until pictured next to Wilma!

I hope you have a wonderful Fourth of July and that all THREE pups make it through the fireworks unscathed!

Love that you're doing this! I would totally want to foster an animal... though I have no self control and would end up keeping them... that's how we got Darwin afterall. ehehhe

What an excellent host you are Ms. M! Totally impressed that you took turns being the body pillow. Any pawrent should be proud. Wilma really does look like a mini-mastif. Very cool. It is amazing that all three pups get along so well. The size difference is of note, but doesn't seem to be an issue.
What would an extra 40 lbs of pup be to keep around? Just saying...

I love the pictures of them cuddling. It looks like they've adjusted nicely. She's a lovely dog and you'll so good to give her a place to stay while she's waiting for her family to come along.

She is beautiful and very petite (but not as petite as me) The first picture looks like an ad for Crate & Barrel! I think modeling may be in her future!

Welcome, Wilma! You sure are cute! I think it's interesting that Miss M doesn't like being used as a pillow when she does the same thing to Mr. B. So nice that all the dogs get along!

Good for you guys! She is gorgeous- that is so great of you! :)

If you wanted you could do a separate R.O.A.R. post with just Wilma- maybe that would help to get the word out about her more?

Bah! I've been so behind reading blogs. That's great that you're able to foster a dog. I love them laying on each other. It's so nice that they all knew each other first.

Wilma is such a cutie! I love the pictures of her snuggling with Ms. M (and it was kind of Ms. M to give the new girl some love). She's so tiny next to your pups - I guess I didn't realize quite how large Ms. M and Mr. B were! I recently fostered my first pit as well, it's a good feeling to know you've helped out a dog in need.
