While including our dogs.
Since we were on break last week, we thought we would spend our time off becoming real tourists. We packed up our bags, took a cab 2 miles east, and all four of us stayed at a pup-friendly hotel in the heart of downtown Chicago.
Being immersed among all of the tourists and their excitement made us feel like tourists ourselves.
We began to see the city in a new way. Which meant we needed to head out to Chicago's #1 Tourist Attraction: Navy Pier.
The original idea behind Navy Pier was to create a public space that people from all socio-economic areas can enjoy. It has the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, the Children's Museum, a huge Ferris Wheel, and boat tours.
But we usually tell people it's not worth going. If you're not going to do any of those things, it's just filled with trinket shops, over-priced chain restaurants, and huge crowds.
Until we came this last trip.
Walking over early in the morning with the cooler temperatures, and all of us snugly wrapped up in scarfs, we missed the huge crowds and we realized how relaxing and beautiful the view was.
With plenty of photo opps.
It actually reminded us a lot of this.
And it was actually a perfect vacation area to hang out with our pups with the never-ending lakefront and skyline views.
Mr. B brought his camera to share his dog-eye view of visiting Navy Pier. From walking out of the hotel (thank you doorman!) to heading to the pier, looking at the views and meeting people.
My favorite parts are his leaping sequences, meeting people who knew the pups from online (thanks for saying hi!), and seeing spider-Miss M coming down the stairs.
Plus seeing the photos we took from Mr. B's point-of-view:
It's so funny to see it from the pups' point-of-view.
What are your favorite parts of Mr. B's video?
Also:
We were able to do a bit of this, though it wasn't quite warm enough to do this.
We are looking forward to doing this again this summer.

Best video yet!!! Love the jumping sequences...and love seeing everything from Mr B's point of view. Awesome!
I love the adoring fans! Is it odd that I'm jealous of the dog's fame?!!!!
I loved the video. I love everything about Mr B. The way the tips of his ears bounce. His jumping. The way he looks up to check in with you. And Miss M on the stairs was too funny.
The best part of the video was seeing Mr. B's cute little ears bounce with every step! Love it!
I LOVE Navy Pier!! It's one of my favorite Chicago tourist attractions and always tell out of towners to go - the views alone are worth the trip :)

That video was adorable with Mr. B's ears floppin' all over!!! It sounds like you guys had a super fun spring break!
Mr. B's ears -- hands down best part of the video!
I love the whole video, especially watching Mr. B's ears! It's so cool to watch things from his point of view.
Mom really enjoyed that Navy Pier. You guys make all the attractions look fun

I LOVE this idea! So fun! Do you mind sharing what hotel you stayed at??
My favorite part of the video is ALL OF IT! How did you get such a good mount for the GoPro on Mr B ? Chest Mount?
Also, sooooooooooo sooooooooo jealous of pet friendly hotels. They don't exist in Australia!
I had to watch the video twice so I could see the sights because the first time I watched, my eyes were glued to Mr. B's flopping ears! So much cute. I love how Ms. M is so outgoing and she seems to really seek out people with the intention of giving them a good licking. Also love the jumps and how Mr. B looks up to E.
Thanks everyone!
We stayed at the James Hotel downtown. They were really, really nice and we're going to write more about it next week.
For the camera, we use the chest mount and we're able to strap it to Mr. B's back. It's always so funny to see things I miss from his view.
I always thought I would be most excited to see Oprah in Chicago-but now I am convinced your two dog would be the best celebrity siting EVER!!
That was a fun adventure!
